Hearing Technology was initially set up by John Robertson in 1991 to repair hearing aids for the South Island from a base in Opawa, Christchurch. As a result of contact with the public and with the demise of the Christchurch Hospital Hearing Aid Clinic, John realised that there was a huge need for professional and caring service in the fitting of top quality hearing aids.

After comprehensive training in audiology he opened the first hearing clinic which was fitted with the latest in computerised equipment. Since then they have grown to a staff of twelve, with clinics in Canterbury (from Oamaru to Kaikoura), and Auckland.

They have earned a reputation for a very high level of customer satisfaction, offering a complete range of audiological services from hearing evaluation through to hearing aid fitting, hearing rehabilitation and technical services.

The staff are professional and qualified, and along with private paying clients, they also offer subsidies through ACC, War Pensions and Enable NZ as registered hearing aid providers.
